Meesho Packaging Guidelines: What Sellers Need to Know
Search interest in "Meesho packaging material" has grown sharply over the past month — not surprising, given how many resellers now run their entire business through the platform. But packaging is one area where getting it wrong costs real money: mismatched packaging can mean disputes, return claims, or catalog issues. Here's what's actually required, based on Meesho's current seller guidance and what packaging suppliers who work with Meesho sellers report.
Meesho updates seller policies periodically — always cross-check current requirements in your own Meesho Seller Panel before a large bulk order. This guide reflects widely reported guidance as of 2026.
1. Plain packaging, no branding
Meesho requires products to ship in plain packaging material — no seller branding or logos on the outside. Meesho does not supply this packaging itself; sourcing compliant bags is the seller's responsibility.
2. A printed QR code is expected
Meesho-compliant packaging typically carries a printed QR code (sometimes two, reverse-printed on either side) used for tracking and dispatch verification. This is one of the most consistent requirements across Meesho packaging suppliers.
3. Transparent packaging is preferred — with exceptions
Meesho has been pushing sellers toward transparent packaging, aimed at improving buyer trust and reducing fraudulent return claims by letting the courier and customer see the product before opening it. That said, a specific list of sensitive categories is required to use opaque packaging instead — check your own category's requirement in the Seller Panel, since this list is category-specific and does change.
This is exactly why we offer our Meesho packing material in both clear and opaque finishes — so you're covered either way without needing to stock two separate suppliers.
4. Thickness: 52 micron is the commonly cited standard
Across Meesho packaging suppliers, 52 micron LDPE is the most frequently cited "Meesho recommended" thickness for standard apparel and lightweight items. Heavier or bulkier products sometimes move up to 60 micron for extra durability in transit.
5. No POD pouch needed
Since Meesho sellers typically print and stick their label directly rather than inserting a paper invoice into a document pouch, most Meesho packaging is ordered without a POD (Place of Delivery) jacket. If your workflow does use a printed invoice slip, ask about POD options separately.
6. Common sizes by category
- 6 x 8 in – small accessories, jewellery, cosmetics
- 8 x 10 in – T-shirts and similar apparel
- 9 x 12 in / 10 x 12 in – shirts, medium garments
- 10 x 14 in – sarees and ethnic wear
- 12 x 14 in – kurtis and similar clothing
Sizing needs vary by exact product — when in doubt, size up slightly rather than forcing a tight fit that stresses the seal.
7. If you're on Meesho's centralized packaging program
Some sellers are enrolled in arrangements where Meesho handles packaging centrally rather than the seller packing before handover. If that applies to your account, this guide is for reference only — check your Seller Panel to confirm which packaging responsibility applies to you.
